In collaboration with the Meyerhoff building at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, my task was to create a poster series that can educate viewers about the fundamental properties and characteristics of chemical elements. My topic was elements that were becoming endangered due to human intervention.
I went with a mood board that was based on strong, bold type and overprint design. I decided to use animals that were extinct to showcase the elements that were endangered.
With the rough draft, I used to clean typography and bold images to make the series stand out. But I felt it needed more.
For the final design, I added a colored box and followed a more consistent grid system. I also changed the composition of the animals to make the series more dynamic.
