Working with 3 other talented designers, forming The BITS Collective. Our task was to come up with a proposal to promote UMBC's Special Collections to external and internal audiences across the humanities, arts, social sciences and STEM with the promotion tying with Maryland's 250th anniversary.
across the humanities,
arts, socd STEM fields.
Our clients at Special Collection were concern that not many people have heard of/ knew what Special Collections is as it is hidden at the back of the Albin O. Kuhn Library & Gallery. They wanted an event that bring people inside and outside of UMBC for Maryland's 250th.
When researching, we notices commonalities between similar proposed events
We propose an interactive, community-driven event that invites participants to reflect on Maryland’s past, document the present, and imagine the future, celebrating Maryland’s 250th anniversary through collective storytelling.
It’s a chance to honor a history full of defining moments. This event allows the community to collaborate and engage in an accessible and inclusive environment. Creating a lasting record of who we are right now so future generations can understand not just Maryland’s past, but the people, emotions, and heartfelt experiences that shaped this moment in time.
